Nerf Guns

We all know Nerf guns, right? The gun with Styrofoam darts that bend and break. They are cool anyway, though. I have two Nerf guns myself. The Longstrike and the Recon. I love my guns. They are really cool. Here is a picture of my guns.

AR Awards

When I was in Elementary school at Irving Elementary, they had this program called Accelerated Reader (AR). The program was designed so that people would read more. It worked as thus. A student would read a book. Then that student would take an AR test over that book. Each book was worth a certain number of points. Depending on how many questions you got right, you would get a certain amount of points. The points varied from book to book. Harder books, like Harry Potter, were worth more points. Easy books, like Blue's Clues, were worth fewer points. Non-fiction books were worth more points than fiction books. While the points still differed, an easy non-fiction book was worth more points than an easy fiction book. Depending on how many points you got, you would be given awards. Awards included trophies, plaques, and medals. I was really good at Accelerated Reader, so I have a treasure trove of awards. Here is a picture of my awards.

Nanovor Online Game

www.nanovor.com

Nanovor is an online game where you fight with little nanoscopic creatures called Nanovor. The Nanovor live in computer chips. I love to play. You can raise you swarm, evolve your Nanovor to be even more powerful, and you can play mini-games. You can also chat with friends, battle other players, and so much more. It is a finicky game though. it is slow if you have anything older than XP. But I love it anyway. Here are two Nanovor that you will probably get as starters.

Schefflera Brassaia Actinophylla : The Umbrella Tree

The Umbrella Tree. It's properly called Schefflera Brassaia Actinophylla. I chose this plant for my blog post because I think it is a cool plant. here are some facts about the Umbrella Tree.

They can grow up to 50 feet in their native homes of Australia, New Guinea, and Indonesia.
They can grow 8-10 feet tall in a house.
The plant requires bright, indirect light to thrive.
When old, the tree will begin resembling a tree instead of a bush.
It requires 70 degrees Fahrenheit in the day and about 60 degrees Fahrenheit at night.

Here is a picture of the Schefflera Brassaia Actinophylla.

Garden Veggies

Garden vegetables are probably the best thing on the earth. You can grow your own veggies from just a few seeds. When those seeds grow into veggie bearing plants, you can get an enormous harvest that you would have had to buy for much more money than you payed for the seeds. And once you have some seeds, and you have been growing things for a few years or so, you can harvest the seeds from your plants. Now you don't have to pay very much at all to grow vegetables. As an added bonus, garden veggies taste better. So even though you have to till, plant, weed, and harvest, garden veggies are awesome to eat. Here are some different types of veggies that you can get from your garden in Iowa.

This is a squash. It isn't a cucumber, even though it looks like it.

Cucumbers and banana peppers are just some of the food you can get.

Summer squash always produces a huge harvest.

Tomatoes aren't hard to raise. It's getting to them before they fall, rot, or animals get them.

Aloe Vera: A Miracle Helper

Aloe Vera. Most of you have probably heard about it or seen it's name on a care product. But do you know what Aloe Vera does? When crushed or cut, this plant releases a clearish slime. This slime can calm irritated skin and heal burns. It is also a beautiful plant. Here is a picture so you can raise one for yourself, in case of any unforeseen emergencies.
